Hey everyone, I’m changing the pace for this blog post.. I’m going a little bit more

on the personal side of things. This post is something that has been on my list of to-do’s

for quite a while now. Okay, so about 6 months or so ago I decided to take the business

full time which was definitely the scariest thing I’ve ever done !

I never thought I’d be able to get out of working a 9-5 job for someone else, I always

seen others who have went full time and the idea kept coming back to my mind to see

if there was somehow I could make that work for me.. because let’s be honest here

editing in itself takes up majority of my time as well as working a 40 hour office job, it

was nearly impossible for me to keep up with the workload of doing 10-15 wedding’s.

So I had this brilliant idea that if I were to leave my job what I would have to make a

month in order to make ends meet for my son and I. He’s three and goes to daycare full

time it was costing me over $180.00 every week. I decided that if I were to go full time

working from home that I would want to spend more time with Liam.. because over all

that’s what working full time at both the office and on wedding days plus editing every

night until ten o’clock did for me was take time away from him.

Queue the music I decided in May 2017 that I was finally tired of working for

someone else who had dreams and made it possible to grow a business… and started

working on my own dreams and on my own business… since I walked out it’s been the

best decision I have ever made. I now make my own hours spend 50% more time with

my son get to go to all of his daycare parties and be apart of his school and extra

activities after school now that I don’t have to worry about staying up late and getting to

work early I can truly focus on him and what matters most and that’s making sure I don’t

miss the most important parts of his childhood.

Yeah at first the money was a little difficult but I just kept going with it and didn’t give

up I now make twice the amount that I made at that full time office job.. and it’s all

because I spent my time while Liam was at daycare working on my social media

presence, marketing and taking care of editing and working on a workflow that will

allow me to be faster and more convenient for people to work with and making myself

more available for those who are trying to meet and schedule sessions.

I wouldn’t change my situation for anything of course there were struggles and I’m

sure there will be more later on down the line but for the time being we are in a good

place. The other struggle I currently face is finding time to wrestle and hockey fight in

between photos LOL ! Sometimes I take a 10-15 minute break to break out into a no holds

match with my little man it gives me a boost of energy long after 5 o’clock which is

stronger than some of the caffeine ha ha !

Some of the other things I truly enjoy about being full time is being able to travel

and take time off as needed for spending some quality family time together with my little

man. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble we can get into for our next disney trip (:

Now don’t get me wrong I’m not bashing working mom’s either because I’ve been there

and I’ve done that and its definitely difficult going back to work knowing that someone

else is watching your kid especially right after giving birth to Liam it was the hardest

thing I ever did was going back to work after spending 8 weeks with him all to myself!
