A Disney Life is a Life for Me

So I’ve decided to share a little something personal with you all and I hope you don’t mind.

This is the story of how Tyler and I had met, and a little bit about what’s happening this upcoming weekend! trust me it ties together somewhere along the way! ahah.

How We Met:

After a little over a few months of talking, and messaging back and forth on twitter ( where it all began ) I noticed he was sharing and retweeting all of my tweets.. finally I decided to look into his profile after thinking to myself ” who the heck is this guy? do I even know him?” I thought of that show Catfish? Ya know the one where people talk online for so long and never actually meet or they can be the person you’re actually talking to or they are someone else when they finally make the time to meet one another. I thought he was cat fishing me LOL. So the first thing I noticed was his Robert Morris University jersey in his profile picture.. Okay, so he’s the athletic type… I can handle that I said to myself alright, so eventually I worked up the nerve to ask him if he attended where I have been going to college.. Since I’ve never seen him there before I definitely thought this was a joke now . Anyways, he replied back and stated he was a night student ( which would explain the fact I never saw him) I was attending during the day. Soon thereafter he asked if I’d like to meet up sometime.. I agreed when he came to pick me up that weekend we went to grab chocolate chip cookies at Walmart down the street. Lame first date I know.. but somehow that package of cookies led me to the man that asked me in the most sweetest way any man could ask you to be his girlfriend. One night we were sitting on the couch watching a movie he leaned over looked me in the eyes and said ” Hey, do you want to be my girlfriend? Because I’d like to be your boyfriend.” Like what? did you just come out of a Nicholas Spark novel? Of course I said yes.

We moved into our one bedroom apartment together and our relationship just kept growing stronger. After 2 years of dating and our handsome son (Liam) being born just the month before Tyler had worked up the nerve to ask me to be his wife. I had scheduled family pictures featuring the newest addition at our nearby park shortly after Liam was finished with the shoot we had let him drift off to sleep for a quick nap then suddenly Tyler took me to this stone bridge by the pond and the photographer was still shooting so in my mind I’m thinking okay new parent pictures sure why not.. THEN, he dropped to one knee and was shaking while holding my hands, looking me in the eyes and said ” Aimee Nikkole Lynn, you make me the happiest man alive do you want to be my wife , because I want to be your husband.” Of course I cried !! no worries.. I said yes LOL.  A lot of planning and 11 months later  We said ” I Do” at Erin’s Pavilion on 07.11.2015 .

So our wedding day was farthest from the “perfect day” I didn’t hire a decorator or spend a lot of money making the decorations myself however, It still was a beautiful ceremony and reception.. The only problem was our rings were missing!! MISSING yes, I just said that out loud.. I looked everywhere that morning and I swear to you all they were in my bag of items the night before the wedding by my bed at my parents house. I knew I had everything in that bag.. Guess not! I arrived at Erin’s and was setting up and trying to stay dry ( it rained on my wedding day ) that was my first sign…. something bad was going to happen. I continued on doing whatever brides usually do.. (Panicking!  and stressing out, you know the deal!) I called Tyler to tell him the news.. and of course he had a fit.. although, he wasn’t mad at me, just the situation. The show must go on attitude came through in me.. I mean I know that all days arent’ perfect but this one was the one i wanted to be at least pretty close.. That was way off base.. getting closer and closer to the time I was about to walk out and still no rings.. Our photographer and her husband were so great that they were able to help us out by borrowing her husbands band and my good friend was able to lend me her engagement ring for the ceremony ( exchanging of rings & the blessing of the rings ) after everything that we had been through that day the best part was to see his face and the tears coming down his cheeks and when he whispered ” you look beautiful” before my dad gave me away had made me forget just exactly what had happen only hours before. The party went on we took photos in the rain and they still turned out pretty good and hey , we were married ! the stress was over and we were planning out DISNEYMOON!  about 2 hours before our flight that next morning my mother called me and said she had found OUR RINGS!!!  I never was so excited to drop everything we were doing to go and meet her at our church and luckily she had asked to have our pastor bless our rings! then we were on our way to sunny Florida where we took these beautiful DISNEYMOON photos! Speaking of Disney , thats where this next half of the blog post is about..

We have recently decided that we are taking little man to DISNEY!!! for his very first time! I am beyond excited the only thing I’m worried about is after you spend all this money .. is he really going to like all the characters? to the point where he won’t be freaked out by talking and  walking life-sized  BIG goofy! lol thats what he calls his goofy plush he carries around.  A lot of people have gotten on us lately about how much we spent on the trip.. because “he won’t remember it ” & “he’s too young” they say.. What they don’t know is yes while it is his first time. It’s really for us to watch him experience his favorite characters come to life. Liam may not remember the fun we had.. but the pictures we take and the memories we have of him while we spend this time with him.. away from our computers and our busy hustle and bustle of our everyday lives we will actually be able to enjoy it.. and eventually he will grow up. Then, we can show him the images we took that one time in Disney and share with him all the funny stories while we rode rides he keeps saying ” I want to ride the ponies, and the tea cups oh & dumbo!” LOL get a load of this guy!

Isn’t he just a handsome little guy? I think so too! His obsession with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the never land pirates, Finding Nemo, & Cars  gave us the idea to want to take him because  he is still at the age where he believes that these characters are real.. and that to me makes he money we spent worth it in the end. As long as he has a good time and he is still a kid at heart Disney will have more than surpassed my expectations for our little guy. We are staying at the Art of animation resort where he can enjoy the Cozy Cone and cars themed area as well as the Drop off from Nemo and of course meet MICKEY the mouse!!! It’s the best of all things Disney. Growing up on nothing but Disney princess’s and classic Disney movies I sure feel like a kid again when we go.

So here’s to hoping he has a good time! Ill be sure to post pictures from our trip so keep your eyes peeled for the excitement from the ” There’sNOVplacelikeDISNEY” family vacation.

Talk soon,
